Power cables play a vital role in many of the sectors, i-e: in buildings, construction, mining, mechanical industries, and their plant’s installations. Since we have a variety of types of cables in the market as per the requirement. In buildings, communication cables are laid with the help of cable roller or by cable trays which are sketched along with the ceiling of the walls of the buildings. The installation of these cables is extremely difficult, due to the fact these cables consist of a lot of weight and are almost 1000m in length. For that reason, cables are wrapped around the cable rollers or in trays so that it smoothens the process of installation and to decrease the number of quantity of workers.
In this technological era, many of the industries are seeking or adopting newer technologies for installing the cables. for that reason, a cable roller is assisted. The cable head is first inserted into the roller winders and workers roll cable roller in an anti-clockwise direction. A tension strain detector is attached to the cable and it is operated by motor for rotating the roller, till the cable is completely rotated. It is important to note that strong tension must be applied at the top of the cable while installing it so that to avoid creating bends. but on the other end applying a lot of tension to the cable can cause damage to the cable.
If the cable roller or ball is no longer able to rotate by the applied tension, the whole cable then is uplifted and is moved by the number of workers. Since this whole process is really time-consuming and it affects the efficiency of the installation. To avoid such mishaps, it is important to focus on the lengths of the cables of power, and improvement in training to be provided for operating the whole process. To overcome cable weight ‘power line communication cables ‘are also been used. But the drawback using PLC cables there have been issues with performances, i-e: noise and response timings.
Various newer techniques have been introduced for efficient cable installations. The multi-hop control system has also been proposed for the cable installations, which requires workers in small quantities. in the multi-hop system, the cables positions are assigned automatically to the network and address cables to roll in the line through instruction packets and this tends to progress the cables /lines to work adaptively. This system is also helpful for avoiding the congestion of routes. This system focuses on power saving, which is achieved by intermittent operation of the terminal.
How are these devices controlled?
The control of such a device is done by my two-way communication method. By this method, the device can be controlled easily and is monitored by a sensor. this is very useful for collecting the data as well in two directions, i-e output and input and that is why it is termed as a two-way communication device. Since there are space issues so wireless systems or communications are preferred more. costing of these cables is another issue nowadays, and it has given a boost to adopt wireless networks.
What’s next?
Further work and researches are also in progress on the physical layer (first later of OSI) to rely upon wireless communications. Use of downlink equalization information has been utilized for equalizing transmission between the slave and the master which would tend to reduce over-tune in the upper link and that would improve the overall efficiency of frame utilization. In this process, one to one or one to N communications is preferred, keeping eye on the time to get the input and outputs. In the surveillance system, further, up-gradation is being done in which the length is fixed with a preferred time and would copy suppression so that the same data must be entered for another suppression.
The surveillance system is for grasping information for each communication cable line. the data is then transmitted to the server through wireless communication ad-hoc network. the ad-hoc wireless communication is dependent on the repeater network and on the web page so that the map can be accessed. We can easily check each of the activity through the web page of the baby wipes (child wires). the information which has been gathered from the baby wires and transmitted to the server by using multi-hop network communications. In this site, multi-hop communications would be used for collecting data i-e: the farm and the agricultural fields, so that we can have enough information that how much they have been grown and which are to be harvested. This would ultimately decrease the loss and would increase the quality of the agricultural lands.
Since multi-hop communications are applied for long-distance networks, and sometimes it becomes difficult to control or manage such types of networks, due to the fact connections become loose and it becomes difficult to fetch the data. To avoid this mishap, the multi-hop connection is applied in the form of sequential (in proper sequence) cable installation, in which information is noticed at each point and while installing all the feedback is provided to avoid errors. While installing the cables, and when cables are attached with the cable roller, a sensor is attached which starts and stops the cables with the help of sensors, in which we provide the length of cable to be laid.
Nevertheless
There are different strategies that are followed by different sectors. If we talk about agricultural fields. the wireless networks and sensor installations need to have cost-effective, durable, energy-saving, should be highly resistant to pests and animals and environment-friendly connections. since agricultural fields are open, so we need to consider all the factors and the concept of installing wireless connections and networks would be most preferable.
With the adoption of these newer technologies, we must also consider other conditions, such as weathering, the surface where the plant would be installed, full detail of the site where it must be installed, and the selection of wireless systems and LAN which could bear the site conditions. There are different conditions that need to be followed for different projects. so, the installing of the cables is chosen as per site criteria of the project and as per requirement, the technique is applied.
