In keeping with Elliott, a lot of his assembly with Cooper was once certainly rather pretty, with the actor telling Leisure Weekly, “I went to his house, and had a meal with him. We talked for a few hours, mentioned our mothers, and our households, and the trade, and mentioned his imaginative and prescient for the movie.” Whilst it did not stay him from signing onto “A Star Is Born,” one second nonetheless stood out to Elliott as in particular “bizarre,” and it concerned Cooper taking part in a tape of himself operating with a trainer to get the specificity of his persona’s voice down for the movie.
Turns out that seconds into the tape, Elliott may inform it was once his personal iconic timbre Cooper was once attempting to emulate, claiming, “[Cooper] performed [me] the tape of him operating with a voice trainer, when he is attempting to get my voice down. I take note him announcing, ‘This goes to sound a bit bizarre,’ and it f***ing did sound bizarre. As it seemed like me! And he is been listening to my voice in interviews … he was once announcing s*** that had pop out of my mouth.”
Bizarre because the vocal-theft was once for Elliott, Cooper’s voicework in “A Star Is Born” proved as essential part of his bravura flip as anything he did as an actor. Whether or not it was once deliberate or now not, the concept that of that very voice-theft sooner or later factored into probably the most pair’s maximum dramatically potent moments. And whoah daddy, did Elliott slay in that scene.
