Nobody can deny that advertising is an extremely important point when it comes to distributing a product. Large teams of advertisers can have very high salaries. Advertising is expensive, and even a few seconds of a spot at a major event can be hotly contested and highly valued. Without going any further, appearing in the Super bowl, or in a sports final, is pure gold for large companies. But is it as easy as being at the right time in the right place? We are going to see a few examples of advertising graphic design that have been very famous in our history, and we will try to analyze them a little. Now let’s move forward and we will try to answer a question what is an example of graphic design?

The 5 examples of advertising graphic design that have succeeded

1. Sunkist Orange Juice, 1907

What happens if we have an overproduction of our merchandise and cannot afford to discard it? Something like this happened to California farmers. At one point they were collecting many more oranges than they could sell and they found themselves faced with the situation of losing a lot of money. His solution was nothing more or less than turning his product around and approaching it in a more attractive way for everyone: making orange juice and selling it. Undoubtedly the solution with more head and that other times are done, reinvent your product to adapt to the circumstances of the moment.

2. Absolut Vodka

No need for an introduction, Absolut is a master at advertising with word games and spectacular posters to attract the public. You just have to look at the ones that we present to you with the slogan of “Absolut landmark” or “Absolut survivor”, a detail that can be seen in other campaigns, for example, Apple products and it is famous “i” before the names. Advertising is based on the user remembering what they are announcing and many times companies sin by not knowing how to transmit this idea exactly.

3. “We can do it!”, 1942

You could not miss one of the most famous posters in the history of advertising, which, incredible as it may seem, was not intended for what is known today. In 1942, the Westinghouse Electric company needed motivation for its workers, who were mainly dedicated to making helmets during World War II. But a different future awaited “the strong woman”, and that is that from the 70s and 80s it was used as a symbol of feminism, to claim the rights that women claim in society. A clear example that sometimes we create an idea for a purpose and, due to the impact on our consumers, another very different one is given to it since it did not even promote a commercial product.

4. Sapporo Beer

In the Japanese city of Sapporo they are very proud of their beer, and what better way than to demonstrate it with a very creative ad that has become known around the world thanks to the internet. With the slogan of Legendary Biru, they presented a very creative campaign, trying to show the Japanese discipline, together with the union of ancient times with modern ones. A spot that will not leave you indifferent and that you will surely enjoy

5. Apple campaigns

Apple is known, not only for the finishes of its products, but also for investing a lot of money in good advertisers, and even Steve Jobs said it in a talk, that advertising is everything. It doesn’t matter if your product is somewhat inferior or superior to the others, without a good marketing job you are not going anywhere. Proof of this is well-known spots such as “PC vs Mac”, “Think different” or the creative “Silhouette”. The latter was almost the insignia of the apple for a long time, as it was colorful, musical, and entertaining to watch. And in fact, the same idea accompanied the iPod for no more and no less than 4 years, from 2004 to 2008, with great successes of the moment in each ad. Earlier we mentioned that in advertising you should convey an idea and make yourself known for it, even if the user has no intention of buying anything from your company. This campaign is a clear example of this fact.

And last but not least, what if, instead of performing in a show, advertising itself is such an event? Behind that idea is born the famous leap of Felix Baumgartner and Red Bull. 3 years have passed since this intrepid skydiver, and the ambitious participation of the energy drink went around the world. An event that was brewing for months, creating expectations among all Internet users, and that simply did not promote anything in particular: it was not a new flavor of Red Bull, nor was it a sporting event promoted by them. They simply wanted to be present in the lives of all of us for a few seconds, and they succeeded, creating feedback on all social networks, making the minute of glory that the red bull had had viral.
